Reality Check

It just occurred to me that in just afew years time, we will all graduate from whatever we are studying. And when that day comes, we'll have to look for a job, a real job, a long term one. There won't be much chance to do what we want to do, to try what we want to try.

So, I'm going to seize every opportunity I have to do what I love to do, now that I'm still studying and not yet a working adult. And I love to be an AK coach. It's sad to know that I can only be a coach for another 5years tops. People, do what you love to do, for when you graduate, time won't be the only factor not on your side.

Is It Possible?

Is it possible to disappear?
To forgo everything and start anew? New friends, new job, new thinking. . .

Good bye to everything and everyone
Don't be alarmed if you can't contact me. It probably is a flat battery.

That's My Dog

Kitty plays with rubber ball on bed. The ball fell to the ground, she jumps off the bed to get it back, couldn't jump back up the bed, barks at me, I carry her back up.
This continues for another 3times.

Then the fifth time, ball drops, she barks at me (notice the skipping for jumping off bed and couldn't get back up) to get the ball for her, I didn't move, she nibbles on my fingers, I get the ball for her, she pesters me to play with her.

Smart isn't she. What a cute little thing

4 Accidents and a Funeral

Some days I find sitting at home watching TV is a great way to live, but I don't deny that it is more interesting to be outside. All the things you can see and hear. . .Today however, turns out to be quite extraordinary, in a not so good way (unless you would do anything to strike 4D)

I saw a total of 4accidents in the space of 1day! First was along the street of Ubi's Comfort Driving Centre. I was on the bus when I saw this badly smashed up Toyota Wish with 4 onlookers by the curb. The right side of the car was like a squashed up piece of paper. There's no ambulance to be seen, only a tow truck on its way.

The second accident was just a 30minutes gap from the first. It was at Hougang, near to the bus interchange. There was a stationary car on the road. A woman was standing outside with 2policeman. Another policeman was checking on the driving in the car, who was obviously in a state of shock.  Soon another car came (probably his friend) to help comfort the driver. There's no signs of a crash, but an ambulance was at the back.

Third was when I saw blood. I was cleaning my shaver blade when I don't know what got into me. I slide my finger on the blade, sliced my finger wide open.

Fourth was the worst of all, it made the newspaper. I saw it when I was cycling home past hougang ave 10. A cement truck fell into a large drain! The whole area was cordoned off, lots of onlookers were there. From Today newspaper I understood that the driver of the cement truck was dead. No information of how it happened was given.

What are the chances of witnessing so many accidents in a day? If I am some old uncle I must have been rushing to the 4D place again and again to place my bets. This is not a challenge but I hope nobody would see more accidents than me in 1 day.

Happy Birthday!

It's April, one of my favourite months of the year.
April Fool's, Good Friday, Low season for travel (which means cheaper flights and discounted stays). And of course, my birthday, as well as Sham's Ah Hao's Leena's Ethel's and alot of my Army mates. Come to think of it, I do know alot of Aries babies. Happy Birthday to all the people born on April =D

Birthday is always great. You get to receive gifts, eat cakes, blow candles (i love it), free meals etc, not forgetting all the perks you can get on your big day. Swenson's gives you a free Topless 5 Ice Cream, Aries (the store which sells girl's accessories) give discounts to all Aries babies, McCafe gives you a free frappe, and if you are a NTUC member you get to go to Wild Wild Wet for free! I'm sure there are alot more companies giving out treats on Birthdays. After all, it is your big day!

Went to Sham's party afew days back, I wish I can have a party like that! His parents are just awesome. Haven't upload the zillion pictures I took, sorry bro =]

--------------------------------------------
I got my MC extended till 13 May. My doctor freaked out when I told him I went jogging. He says its way too early to be jogging. Luckily I didn't mention anything about swimming and cycling.

I bought a bicycle for myself. Been wanting to get one since last year. It's just a ordinary bicycle. I know I have this Bicycle Challenge going on but I just can't help when I saw the Bicycle Fair at Plaza Sing. I'm still actively saving money to mend the hole on my bank account.

Touching Videos

Many people look for things that they don't have. Many aim to be perfect. How we look, the way to talk, how we look when we eat, how we walk, and how flawless our relationship be. And more often than not, we don't get it. The perfect things we want out of these imperfect world.

What's really important, is not how perfect our lives seem to others, not how our relationships are free of hip-cups, not how our pets are so perfect they gave us no problems at all. For if all is perfect we would not learn to love, to cherish, to laugh when things go wrong. . .Imperfections makes us feel that we are still alive. As ironic as it sounds, imperfections makes our world, well, perfect.

Please take 6minutes of your time to watch this videos. I'm sure lots of us have seen them on TV, but watch it again, maybe the meaning behind the initial laughter would stick with us for a long time.

'In the end, it's these small things that you remember, little imperfections that make them perfect, for you.'
We are all beautifully imperfect

This one talks about love

This next video is lovely. The last message is simply awesome
'Our children are colourblind
Shouldn't we keep them that way?'

Kitty's Back and Alive Again!

Yesterday we sent Kitty to the vet for her to be sterilized. The doctor place the stethoscope on her to listen to her heartbeat
"You're really nervous aren't you", the doctor said.

Yes she was, definitely. When she came back she looked so tired and down it was heartbreaking for me. The E-collar she was wearing to prevent scratching and licking her wound made it worst. Despite feeling tired from the drugs, she was determined to take it off, pushing the collar with both her front paws.

It was sad to see her that way.

But today, 1 day after the operation, she was almost completely her old self! Barking ferociously at strangers outside the door, following us around wherever we go, turning round and round when I got home. She's even got her appetite back!
GREAT! =D

Get well soon my girl!

Kitty Going For Operation

Took Kitty for a fur cut today. Kind of worried for her actually. She's going for an operation tomorrow morning, to er remove her ability to reproduce. What's that word. Sterilization! That's it. Heard that she's not going to feel good after the operation. Down, moody for the next 10days, cannot let her scratch her 'area'. I don't know much really. If you do please let me know, so I can be more prepared and less worried.

Discovery: There's this brand of cheese balls snack that taste exactly like Super Ring! One of my favourite unhealthy snack! Seriously its awesome!

Ouch: I have a cut on my index finger tip which is making things like scratching my face and rubbing my eyes really painful. COME ON! of all the fingers tips I have to cut my index finger! Shit happens.

Tomorrow's agenda: Driving lesson, cut hair before my interview on Wednesday for NTU/NIE. Kind of scary, I've never been to a education-related interview, normally its a job interview. Don't know what to expect.

And like I promised, Kitty's photos!

Looking sad because my parents, possibly her 2 favourite Humans, are out

I love her pink paws!

She does this whenever I'm near her, meaning she wants a belly scratch

I'm Better Than I Thought

Had been playing basketball with myself for 3days now. Well, not exactly playing but just shooting baskets. Guess what, I'm actually not that bad at it.  Better than I was back in Primary school when I was playing for my school.

I thought I should suck at basketball, after not touching it for more than 6years? The last time I played was with Raine Sham Ally. But surprising I can still shoot. That's comforting, given that I can't jump and run fast now. =D

I so want to run, swim, cycle now.

Driving Practice Before My Driving Lesson

Today I drove for the 2nd time in my life.
And I haven't started my actual driving lesson yet. My first driving lesson is on the coming Tuesday at my place. I pestered my Dad to teach me the basics of driving in order to get myself familiarized with a manual car. And he did, sportingly, risking his van and his life in the process.

We started off in the carpark, where he taught me how to start driving and reverse. Nobody told you it is this difficult. Need for Speed never told you that, Grand Turismo gave us a better insight but still they never told you that. Maybe its Michael Schumacher's fault that he made it look all too easy. Or maybe I'm just finding excuses.

Today I drove at some deserted road near my place, where apparently its quite a popular place for beginners like me to learn (2 L-plated cars were there too) It is a slightly curved road with a roundabout one end and a cross-junction at the other, which I used to practice my U-turn. Got much better at changing gears, breaking, U-turn. Did my first 3 point turn today with lots of coaching from Dad. Panicked when there's more than 1car on the road, my car.

So much more to learn, I can't wait for Tuesday's lesson!

Vitagen Kills

Sorry people at Vitagen for the offensive title.
Vitagen is a really healthy drink I recommend it to everybody!

But it always killed me today
Nothing wrong with the Vitagen, just me
I choked while drinking it
And after that I suffered the worst 30seconds ever
I couldn't swallow the remaining Vitagen still in my mouth as I was coughing uncontrollably
and with that liquid still inside I couldn't cough out naturally, instead I controlled my every cough

Somehow it didn't dwell on me that I could actually spit out the liquid. Vitagen is too precious to waste a single drop perhaps.

So I continued to cough and tear and endure the 'at the verge of vommiting' feeling

Worst feeling ever

Spending More Than I Earn

For the past few months I've been spending alot more than I earn.
I'm not totally broke, I always maintain a $500 minimum on my bank account.
But my mum is distressed by my spending ethics
Today she finally broke down and cried

I just don't know, its in a mess
I want to promise myself not to spend so much money from now on but will it work?
Last month I spent close to $1000, on what I'll never find out.
No new clothes, no new shoes

People are always complaining about something
'The public transport prices are raising AGAIN! There goes my savings'
'Oh darling look at the darn egg prices going up again, no eggs on your prata tonight!'

But is that few cents really the root of all our financial troubles?
We blame all these factors because it is out of our control.
What we can control, like switching off the air-con to save electricity and not buying a pair of high heels we never do.

Dear dear me, I really need to stop spending. . .

And baby, I'm so sorry I couldn't accompany you home today.
Those freaking sex deprived b*astard are really pissing me off.
But what's with the question thing? A test?
So did I pass? or did I fail this time?
Sometimes it is good to think that what if you were me and I'm testing you?

All I wanted is to be on time. 7pm at City Hall, its not a mountain to climb.
I'm almost 30minutes late and I couldn't even say the truth, that I am really late for the dinner and couldn't bounce with you. If you were to choose between a reluctant yes and a honest no what would you choose. Let me know so I'll pass your future test. To be on time for a 2hour meeting, that's not too much to ask is it?

You're the world to me baby. But you are becoming more and more untrusting towards me.

Bike Challenge: Would You Hire Me?

Raising Money 101
People always say that you have to work for what you want.
And guess what, they are right.
It has come down to this, that my easier ways of money making is over and its time to do some real work.

If you know me you would know that I'm not exceptional at anything.
But I know I love the outdoors, good at maths (at least I like to think so), loves to play games
Yesterday while blogging I have this dream
That wouldn't it be great that some stranger might read my blog and he/she happens to be a manager or big boss
and decides to hire me for a day or a week, just to help me get my money.

Never stop dreaming, one day one of my dreams will come true

Offer #1: Tutoring
I may not be able to teach algebra well but I sure know Primary school maths
I'm confident I can inculcate a love for maths in young children and teach maths in a fun and simple way

Would this flyer work? I'm planning to distribute this around my area (Punggol Field)

Offer #2: Baby Sitting / Child Care / Pet Care
I know child care isn't just about playing a educational video and that's it.
It's like the toughest job ever.
But I think a service like this is needed.
Like you need to go somewhere but just couldn't / would be too troublesome to bring your toddler / pet dog along.
Wouldn't it be great to have somebody just take care of him/her/it for 2hours while I go out?
Well, that's me.
That is if you are living around Punggol Field =]

Guess what? I sold my first item today for $10!
It's an incredible feeling, especially when you don't expect it
I have no stressed of selling something, and hey, I sold it
That's the difference between casual selling and selling for business

Another $162 more to go

There's a couple more things I'm planning to sell so there it is

Item #4: Books, books and more books!
I'm an avid reader, or was, when I had to endure long hours of commute to school and work.
I love most of these books. So take a look!

A: Hitchhiker's Collection, by Douglas Adam $12 for 3

Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy (Film tie-in edition, with pictures from film)
Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy : The Restaurant at the End of the Universe

Not recommended to read on public transport unless you have a thing for strange stares

B: The Time Traveler's Wife, by Audrey Niffenegger $8

A refreshing love story

Bike Challenge: It's a Flea Market!

It's Money Raising 101

Lesson 3: Sell Off Anything That Is of Some Value

By any means possible

For fund raising I'm going to sell some stuff over here.
Some are really meaningful to me.
Take a look =]

Item #1: Replica Vietnam War Lighter
It's a very unique item I got from Ho Chi Minh City about a year or so ago, when I was sent over there for tour guide duties. When I saw the lighter at the museum I knew I wanted it right away. I figured it's a boy's thing, same like how TVs computers and everything electronic appeal to us. It has a old rusty look (but its not actually rusty), as if it did come from the Vietnam War time. Very memorable piece of item. It's like the ideal vacation purchase that will remind you of where you got it from. Goes for $10, wouldn't mind if anyone is willing to pay more, because it actually cost me much more.

I posted ads too, which link them over here. So, here's link to see the ad which would lead you back here.
Lighter ad on Gumtree
Lighter ad on Ebay

Item #2: Set of Fully Adjustable Crutches  (SOLD)
You heard it right! Set of FULLY ADJUSTABLE CRUTCHES! Great for people of height 5'2'' to 5'10'' (then what about those not in these range?) Matty silvery grey, metallic feel.
Don't think of it as a taboo item. I could think of a thousand other uses. Photography, filming, for a play or act, a deceiving weapon, decoration purposes etc.!
If it helps, it comes with live demostration of the correct usage of the crutches, as well as my signature (on request only)

Crutches ad on Gumtree
Crutches ad on Ebay

Item #3: Lightsticks!
Everybody loves lightsticks!
It's also a boy's thing, like item #1 and TVs and computers and everything electronic
As far as I know they are the best kind of lightsticks around. The army uses them.
Very bright, last for 12hours (although the brightness drops significantly after some time)
Comes in 4 different colours: Blue Green Red Yellow
Goes at $1 each, but willing to go lower due to the limited number of them I have available

That's it!
Feel free to post your offers in comments!
EVERYTHING MUST GO!

Bike Challenge: All the Loose Coins Unite

The begging didn't work
Probably because I didn't tell my parents what I was saving for
Don't want to spill the beans to them yet

So next up, I planned to gather all the loose coins in my room and guess what
It's quite an amount just being scattered everywhere, from my waredrobe to the back of my computer
Here is what I found:
5cents:   36 = $1.75
10cents: 26 = $2.60
20cents: 8   = $1.60
1dollar:   2   = $2

Total: $8.00

Amazing isn't it just how much coins can be found lying around

Also, I found a unopened red packet, probably from many Chinese New Years back.
$20!

$28, all in a day's work!
Now that's $172 more, although I will aim to get as much money as possible.

Save For a Bicycle Challenge

How much does a regular bicycle cost?
I've always wanted a bike ever since I learned how to ride on one.
I don't need a fancy bike, with fenders crazy decals and metal pedals
No no no I have more of a classic down to earth taste
I prefer a simple bike with a basket in front. Practical. And maybe, just maybe, make it striking orange!

So instead of THINKING of having a bike, I want to have one
I've set a challenge for myself: To Save $200 (more than enough?) within 2months
Easy? Here's the catch.
The $200 cannot come from my regular monthly paycheck.
Neither could it come from my pocket money.

'Then how are you supposed to get that money? Steal? Beg? Rob?'
Exactly! I'll be thinking of ways to do it and update my progress here

And first up? Beg!

...

Mum! Dad!
Can I talk to you about something?

An adorable Pain in the Butt

It's my dog. . .

Recently she has been eating her own poop

I just saw a paper clip stuck on her tongue when she did those panting thing dogs do.

Man, you really do eat everything don't you?

And you know what happens when you try to get their 'prized possession' away

An Hour for Earth

What have we done for Earth?

You heard right
We've been taking from Earth all our lives.
Natural resources like crude oil, minerals, trees for paper etc.
It reaches a point that the rate we are taking away these things are far greater than Earth could replace them

Earh's sick, and she's been sick for a long long time
If you are worried about the drastic climate changes that are happening all over the world
Tsunamis, earthquakes, giant floods. . .
Then do something

VOTE EARTH

28March, let's all switch off our lights for a mere 1hour.

Yes people may think
So what if I off my lights for an hour? What is it going to do? How is it ever going to help Earth?
Yes and its true, you won't be able to do much.
You don't have to

When only one person off the lights for an hour, its not going to help with anything.

But who said you were alone?
